Jonathan Gassoub

Through the ideology of culture, Jonathan Gassoub’s design practice addresses the cultural context of societies and communities, couture heritage, design-based historical influences, and the environment. Through an acknowledgement of the beginnings of these cultural contexts, he engages with installations, exhibition design, and the design of urban spaces. Through his online design studio PROJECT:STUDIO, Jonathan’s early work explores his middle-eastern background by amplifying a recognition of the region's community and its connection with society in Sydney. ‘PROJECT:EXPOSURE’ uses middle-eastern materiality and motifs through three individual pergolas, which elaborate on the region's traditional coffee cup.
