A&D ANNUAL 2020

Kristy Gordon

Kristy Gordon’s practice finds connections between repetitive processes, slowness and the potential for achieving personal resonance. She explores the liminal space between seeing and being, recording physical and metaphysical experiences of the Australian landscape as a slow method to balance fast culture. As such, her practice is slow. Through painting, drawing and printmaking, Kristy considers labour as a medium, addressing the potential for repetitive processes to generate heightened awareness of physical senses – the act of the body making, and presence in the self. Additionally, she explores how temporal, rhythmic processes can catalyse flow states and access to meditative (liminal) space.
