A&D ANNUAL 2022

Kumiko Delaney

Inspired by the queer population of Japan. Kumiko's work 'Forbidden Fruit (禁断の果実)’ explores queer inequalities and restrictions through the luxury fruit industry of Japan. Luxury fruits are gifted in Japan as a sign of deep respect, loyalty and appreciation. A love letter to my two cultures, a comparison of the two socially. Marriage for all is yet to exist in Japan.
