A&D ANNUAL 2022

Michael Pham

Michael Pham is an emerging media artist working on unceded Gadigal lands of the Eora Nation (Sydney). Michael's interdisciplinary artmaking practice revolves around moving images interwoven within typical media realms. He uses media arts as a way to explore and stimulate themes and stories that may be hidden within everyday reality. His current work, ‘Trying to Remember’, explores how the portrayal of queer memories formed in youth can be re-approached through the application of memory errors in the film medium, allowing for a re-imagining of the experience of memory as an abstract physical embodiment for the audience to engage.
