A&D ANNUAL 2022

Mitchell Lambert

Mitchell Lambert’s work aims to critique the social softening that destruction and war causes upon the greater public and the repercussions of these events. Mitchell’s practice appropriates, juxtaposes, and contradicts iconic war images or icons, converting their purpose, transforming, transcending, exploring the sublime and awe of these events/objects. These appropriated images bypass their original use, desensitising the true nature of the object, blurring the lines of wonder and terror.
