A&D ANNUAL 2020

Penny Pan

Penny Pan’s design responds to the grand challenge of gender equality in Beijing, China. The main target users are women travelling alone at night. This project includes product design and app design to protect female users from sexual harassment and assault. The product design includes a wearable device which directly protects users from injury including the features of an airbag, alarm sounds and built-in cameras. The app combines local maps to provide safe routes, a sharing platform to disclose suspects, user health monitoring, and personality settings. The wearable device is connected with this app, increasing protection for the user.
