A&D ANNUAL 2020

Sally Mayman

Sally Mayman is a multi-disciplinary artist who mentors young people at risk. Her work explores the emotional, spiritual and physical connections we have with our environment, and how these are intimately woven with our sense of belonging. Sally’s work ‘Circle of Courage’ is a collaboration with Father Chris Riley’s ‘Youth Off the Streets’, and celebrates a youth development framework or medicine wheel, which encompasses the underlying philosophy that unites all Youth Off the Streets schools. Medicine wheels are places to come together, reflect, teach, restore and heal. This work invites audiences to join students in their morning ‘circle’ and to reflect upon their feelings and place in the world.
