Sonya Price-Kelly

Sonya Price-Kelly is an emerging interdisciplinary art and design practitioner graduating with a Bachelor of Design with Distinction from UNSW School of Art & Design. Sonya’s's multi-faceted practice draws on her passion for textiles, ceramics and social impact. Using intuitive explorations, Sonya embraces chance as it intervenes between the intention of her work and the final outcome. Her work celebrates her chosen materials and is imbued with traces of its maker, frequently cross-pollinating methods and processes. 'Threads' is a collection which celebrates the clay body through hand-built forms. Hand-dyed yarn replaces traditional ceramic glaze treatments.
