Tony Tran

Tony Tran is an artist... Obsessed with intricate patterns and forms, he yearns to imbue his sculptures with numinous affects by intertwining his 'pan-Asian' and Westernised culture. His practice is informed by an existential quest to seek out new signifiers through methods of abstractions that renew, distort and reclaim iconographies and traditions of divinity, mythology, classicism and the spiritual. He flirts with the concept of techno-animism through creating these sculptural altar-like representations with digital sculpting and photomedia, then reanimating them into the real world through various methods of printing.
