Abby Murray's cross-disciplinary practice explores the fragmented, complex and multi-faceted aspects of silenced and unvalued histories. She approaches her research and creative practice through the covert language of magical realism, calling into question the larger narratives we live by through unravelling and legitimising her familial memories and myths. The work is embedded in disobeying the borders and boundaries that divide the lines between reality and imaginary through collecting, unravelling and assembling a restorative installation.
