Animation inspires imagination, creation, and bravery since our youth where we first laid our eyes upon it. For the queer experience, each generation has different memories of queer characters, especially as LGBTQ+ children of the present are beginning to see themselves in prominent characters in comparison to the children of the past. In her art practice Allyson takes inspiration and appropriate different visual styles of animation, creating a world of childhood imagination with a queer presence. Using experimental 2D animation in 'Glitched Apart', they tell the story of queer representation and its transformation from the past to the now.
