Up-cycled Embroidery Quilt 2 of 2
During my internship at Kala Raksha, Preservation of Traditional Art, in India, I was given a project brief to design a range of products for Kala Raksha's "Up-cycled" collection that utilizes production off-cuts as well as damaged fabric.
Two quilts were created using intricately embroidered skirts and coats that had been damaged beyond repair. The items were first deconstructed, removing the damaged areas so the embroidery could be re-used.
