Katherine Yeung

Katherine Yeung is a graphic and visual communication designer based in Sydney, Australia. She has a desire to enrich herself through different experiences, and has a great passion for design and aesthetics. Her ethos is to create designs that allow people's goodness to shine, upholding values of truthfulness, love, and optimism. Katherine considers communication through merging object and graphic design as a universal language while drawing connections with everyday objects that forge the act between experiencing and understanding. Her major project 'Mind Your Step' acts as a reminder to all existing employers regarding the brutality in practicing workplace ageism. The intervention allows users to immerse themselves in the experience of practicing employment agism through the simple interaction of stepping on one's resume and initially seeing the age factor. The crumbled surface is a representation of discourtesy while forcing users to pay more attention and consciousness when stepping over. Being placed in an everyday location, users participate in the cruel event in hopes to spark and enlightenment.
