The print speaks in a visual vernacular of its own—layered, masked, mediated. Yet through masking it can pass for painting, unsettling the hierarchy of mediums. This act of passing mirrors the social self, where identity is performed, concealed, or revealed. In art, as in life, surfaces shift and masks shape how we are seen.
