Jade Muratore

‘Angel Going Down’ is one of three works within Jade Muratore’s series ‘Going Down’. In the work, Jade appropriates and remixes mass culture media and queer archival materials to construct an idiosyncratic archive centred on queer genealogies of her own making, while transforming herself into an avatar she calls ‘a dyke angel of history’. ‘Angel Going Down’ reflects Jade’s ongoing interests in exploring artmaking methods common within fandom culture. Her practice leverages the heightened affects and temporally and textually disruptive capacities of fandom artmaking to render queerness as a state of being out of time.
