Jennie Chen’s animation 'Vessel' explores how an individual uses the body as a container to preserve, swallow, and reconstruct emotional traces established with others based on memories. The work employs experimental animated narratives, and has become an emotional container for the artist to keep memories of the moments and people who have shaped her. Through transformative animations of symbolic objects, layers of sound, and restless shaking scenes, it shares a story of the contradictory emotions experienced when facing loss and death.
