Laura Quinlivan
Laura Quinlivan’s work 'Still And Quiet With A Needle In Hand' explores the parallels between mending clothes and emotional healing, and the community impact of this process. The longer you wait before fixing that hole in your jeans, the bigger it will get and the harder it is to fix. Similarly with emotional wounds, the longer it is ignored, the more damage is done. Yet, the mending of those wounds can be a beautiful process and worn with pride. Laura’s practice involves collecting and mending clothes for people in her community, engaging with the meditative process of stitching to offer space for quiet reflection on past and future healing.
