Mia Hayward
Mia Hayward is an artist based on Gadigal Land. Working across textiles and ceramics, her auto theoretical feminist practice explores the porous boundaries between embodiment and disembodiment. Through the tactile interplay of thread and clay, she investigates how material processes can translate bodily experience. Her recent works explore how making can operate as a reparative gesture, transforming the residues of trauma into forms of resistance and reclamation. Her current research draws on architectural thresholds—windows, archways and doors—as liminal sites where bodily presence and absence converge.
