Isabelle ‘Perkyperkins’ explores the tension between and within the family dynamic. Her work ‘Eat your heart out (gently)’ takes the form of a dining room table to reflect on the domestic household. The cold, rigid tiles echo the tension of strained relationships, while their durability suggests quiet resilience. Surrounding the table is a series of photographs in tiled frames that embody the emotional weight and repetition of familial memory. Each tile is both strong and fragile, resembling the paradox of family bonds — how easily they can crack, and how carefully they must be pieced back together over time.
