Riley Stafford

Riley Stafford's practice aims to attract viewers with intricate details and then repulse them with what they uncover. She primarily works at a small scale, using ink pens to produce fine detail. This scale requires viewers to engage closely with her drawings rather than passively from afar. Riley is conceptually interested in the body, privacy, and Christian religion. This has taken form in explorations of surveillance capitalism, consumption, and the apocalypse. Riley aims for her works to feel alive, allowing viewers to discover new details each time they view them.
