Sally McKay

Sally McKay’s project explores the design and development of ‘Sophie’, a digitally embodied Artificial Intelligence (AI) companion created to support individuals within the Huntington’s Disease community to engage with brain health optimisation. Huntington’s Disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that leads to the gradual deterioration of nerve cells in the brain, resulting in both cognitive and motor impairments. Despite its profound impact, brain health remains an under-discussed topic in the community and many individuals lack the knowledge, resources and support needed to actively care for their neurological wellbeing. 'Sophie' aims to help bridge this gap through lived experience.
