Luke Létourneau Tour

Above my bed

I am always interested in what people display above their beds.

I love the artwork that hangs above my sleeping, twinkling eyes because it’s all about being held, supported and the sensations of a roaming touch. It is a subtle work that doesn’t distract or overwhelm my space but remains as a cheeky and charming presence that I know I can trust.

When I looked through the works in the 2024 Annual Showcase I thought about bedrooms – that tender and sometimes vulnerable space where our mind drifts, light disappears, and our bodies slow down. With that in mind, I have selected a series of works for this digital tour that I think would comfortably lay in a similar context.

These artist’s projects consider waking moments, how our mind drifts between rational and dreamy and the sensations of the body as it comes in contact with other hands or adornments. And so please enjoy these projects that you can feel comfortable with in your more exposed moments.
