Holes in the Light: Twelve Shadow Studies

2011 Graphite on Paper 21cm X 30cm each From a series of shadow works. These particular works are usually individually displayed in a mirrored partition. Exploring notions of reflection and shadow as the self (something familiar) and the other (something alien). I reference the Rorschach ink blot test to explore the psychological aspects of shadows as a stimulus for imaginative association and interpretation. I'm interested in human tendencies to try and make sense of what we see and divine meaning from what we perceive.
