This painting introduces Shamira, an earth dragon, who runs a makeshift orphanage for all other abandoned creatures. Humanity has been expanding rapidly, absorbing and harnessing the magical gemstones of all creatures for selfish gain. Shamira’s own family, a mate and a young brood of dragons, were stolen by humans, leaving her broken and jaded. She began her orphanage in the hope of proving herself a capable mother and protecting others from the same fate as her own.
