Reflection

Gunpowder, redgum and turmeric on paper. 134cm x 210cm This work is inspired by a photograph of a row of wonky slums perched precariously on stilts in a lake. The moonlight reflects the slums on the water. There is this feeling of solidarity, community and love, standing on stilts. The image is a visual oxymoron but also a metaphor for life.
