These souvenirs depict some of the different possibilities that exist within the confines of minimalism and 50cm lengths of wool. Our realities are constituted by measurements of time, distances and tasks. Like beautiful crystalline formations within rocks, beauty can occur within the constraints and parameters of our lives in unexpected ways. Standardized measures of external reality can be permeable, and hold a myriad of possibility. Employing this methodology of minimalism and constraint in my treatment of the material (stitching into un-felted wool using one simple technique), as well as working intuitively has allowed for the emergence of an interesting relationship between freedom and constraint.
